Property Valuation

The Property Valuation specialization, part of the bachelor study program Banking was first taught at BICB during academic year 2002/2003.
 
The study branch is for students interested in studying Property Valuation itself as well as related topics such as Insurance Business, Banking, and Finance. It strives to prepare specialists, who will deal with property valuation, loans, mortgages, risk credits and other related products.

Aim of the study and graduate profile

The aim of the study Property Valuation is to educate students to become highly qualified specialists of real and personal estate valuation as well as businesses valuation. The graduates acquire key knowledge of structural engineering and architecture. Beside this, they are familiarized with theoretical basis of valuation and its practical application.
 
While studying, s/he gets acquainted with the importance of valuation and gets oriented in the area of data processing in the scope of the studied branch which gives her/him necessary basis for working as a modern manager and worker in the above mentioned areas. The student is familiarized with basic theoretical disciplines of structural engineering and architecture and their applications.
 
The graduate of the program becomes a specialist, who acquired general and vocational knowledge and is qualified for working in expert and managerial positions in property valuation and in processing of connected information.
 
Typical activities, which the graduate will be prepared to deal with, are elaboration of property estimations, especially for banking purposes, database administration in the area of property valuation, managing, risk analyzing and quality auditing of presented estimations.

Conditions and study organization

The bachelor study program of Property Valuation lasts for 6 terms/semesters.
 
The study is structured as follows:
 
the study of theoretical basis (1st year)
 
vocational study (starting from 2nd year)
 
The study is realized in daily and combined forms (the length of the study is 3 years). Students will make use of commonly available literature and manuals, specialized textbooks published by BICB and eventually further study materials.
