Finance

The Finance Master’s Program was first taught at BICB during academic year 2003/2004. It carries on the Banking Management bachelor program. Applicants, who have completed different related study branches at BICB or even at other colleges and universities may also apply for admission.

 
The Master’s program by its thematic scope of studied subjects and by aiming at the practical needs guarantees that its graduates will be prepared for specialized and managerial positions in banks, insurance companies and other institution on the financial market, in companies (especially in financial and legal departments), in public financial authorities and institutions as well as further areas of public sector.
 
The undergraduates are offered thematically unified scope of knowledge related to the context and processes in financial management of companies, to bookkeeping and accountancy and to information directly usable by bodies of financial system. 

Aim of the study program and graduate profile

The study offers theoretical knowledge of usual Master’s degree level. It provides the graduates with knowledge directly applicable in practical activities. The Master’s degree program graduate has become a specialist with complete university education, who has gained deep knowledge of reality corresponding the studied field, skills to analyze situations and prompt orientation and decision-making abilities. S/he is able to propose proper work processes and to control and estimate their realization in a qualified way.
 
This study program belongs to crucial once from the point of view of market economy. It offers knowledge necessary for managing the scope of financial systems, financial trades and processes of banks, insurance companies and further institutions of financial systems, understanding the state budget, local budgets and public finance. Important part of the study is bookkeeping and accounting (with special respect to accounting of financial services), connected with financial analysis. 
 
The graduate is educated for demanding work in expert and managerial positions in banks, insurance companies, further institutions of financial sector, institutions of public finance and other areas of public sector. S/he is prepared for vocationally demanding activities in the field of financial and managerial accounting, in financial analyzing, financial control and auditing, advisory services in entrepreneurial entities of all the types of legal forms of business, in appropriate organizations and institutions of public sector as well as of local and state authorities.

Conditions and study organization

The Master’s study program Finance lasts for a total of 4 semesters (2 years). We invite applicants who have completed their bachelor, or master studies. They may be accepted after handing in a filled in application form.
 
The study is realized in daily and combined forms. Students will make use of commonly available literature and manuals, specialized textbooks published by BICB and further study materials.
 
After finishing the Master’s study program and passing the final state exam, the graduate will gain the title of engineer (abbreviation Ing.). S/he will receive a diploma where the gained title, the finished program will be mentioned, as well as the certificate of the final state exam.
