The applicants who completed secondary/ high school and university degrees will be enrolled in the Bachelor study program. Applicants with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree will be accepted to the Master study program.
Foreign applicants can submit a nostrificated secondary school certificate and language certificate of preparation for higher education from the Banking Institute (BICB) in Prague, Charles University (Prague), Technical University (Ostrava).
Application for enrollment
The applicants will be enrolled in the course by sending the filled “Application for University Studies “ to the address of our school.
An application form may be picked up in our school, in specialized shops or electronically via the Banking Institute/College of Banking website.
Guidelines for completing the application form
On the front page of the form the applicant should fill in or cross out (in new forms) the following information:
length of studies (type of study program): Bachelor Program or Master Program
form of studies: daily or combined
name of university: Banking Institute/College of Banking (Bankovní institut vysoká škola)
study courses/specializations:
- Banking Management,
- Economics and Management of Medical and Social Services,
- Economics and Management of Small and Medium Enterprises,
- Information Technology,
- Insurance Business,
- Public Administration and EU Economics,
- Property Valuation,
- Broker,
- Legal Administration in Business,
- E-commerce.
study courses/specializations:
- Finance,
- Information Technology and Management,
- Law.
In the top right corner of the front page of the form there is a section "Main Language" where it is necessary to put symbol A or N depending on what language the applicant will study (it concerns only the applications for specializations BM, IB, PV, BR, LA, MM, FI). Courses IT, EB, ITM require English as the main language. The second language should be written, for example, in the form Aj/Nj (English/German).
After that the applicant should fill in personal information and the permanent address (and contact address), including the telephone number. The applicant should give the information about the finished secondary/high school. The school identification number will be given only by those who passed their leaving exam after year 1999 or are going to take it in 2006. (This number will be provided by the secondary school, it is also written on the leaving certificate of the student.
Those applicants who are working should give the details about their employer. The employer's confirmation of the length of employment is not required.
On the second page of the form the applicants for the Bachelors Program fill in the accomplishments of the chosen/ years of their studies at a secondary/high school for each year separately. The applicants who pass leaving exams in 2006 will fill in the information about their results only for the half of their studies and should present the confirmation/certification from their school.
The applicants who passed their leaving exams before year 2006 should present their results in the final year including the results of exams. The confirmation/certification from the secondary school is not required.
The applicant for Master program should give the results of their previous studies at university/college.
On the third page of the form, please indicate the day of signature and finally sign the form. The doctor's confirmation about health and the ability to study is not required.
For the application for a course it is necessary to supply the following documents:
- notarized copy of the leaving exam at secondary school (it concerns applicants who finished school before 2006; applicants who will pass their leaving exams in 2006 should give the copy of the leaving exams certificate at the enrollment commission,
- for the application for Master Programs there should be supplied the notarized copy of the higher education Diploma 1,
- Foreign applicants should hand in a notarized copy of the secondary school leaving exam results and language certificate of preparation for higher education from the Banking Institute (BICB) in Prague, Charles University (Prague), Technical University (Ostrava).
- a completed language questionnaire form;
- a completed Payment Conditions form;
- a receipt of the payment of the administrative fee of 500 CZK that has to be debited to the following account:

name of the bank: ČSOB, a. s.
name of the receiver: Bankovní institut vysoká škola, Nárožní 2006/9, 150 00 Praha 5
the payment should be made by the postal order type A or by payment order. When paying use the following symbols:
constant symbol: 0308
variable symbol: personal number/date of birth
Please submit the receipt of postal order or any other copy of a payment receipt. The verification of the documents should be made by a notary or by the authorized state organs.
Deadline for submitting application forms
No later than:
- 31.5.2009 (for the first entrance session)
- 31.8.2009 (for the second entrance session)
The application forms will be considered on an individual basis after 31.8.2009 by the vice rector for pedagogical activities (no later than 20.9.2009) for an additional fee up to 800 CZK.
On the ground of the submitted application there will be given preference to applicants for BM, IT, ET, PV, IB, BR, LA, MM Bachelor Program specializations who are:
- graduates of grammar schools or secondary technical and economic schools whose average performance at leaving exams can be put up to avg. 2,0 (notarized copy of the passing of secondary school exams certificate should be submitted);
- graduates of grammar schools or secondary technical or economic schools who passed their leaving exams in 2006 and whose average half-year performance of the last grade, and also the previous year performance at the secondary school is up to avg. 2,0. It could also be the graduates who will submit the verified copy of the leaving exams from the secondary school to the enrollment commission up to avg. 2.0;
- graduates of re-qualification courses in banking and information technology at the Banking Institute/College of Banking who studied the basics of the course in the scope of this program and their performance can be up to avg. 2.0;
- students of the re-qualification course in banking and information technology who successfully finished the 1st and 2nd semesters of studies and passed their final exams of the 3d semester of the academic year. Their general performance level can be up to avg. 2.0;
For Master Program for the specializations Finance, Information Technology & Management acceptance will be granted to students who have completed their specialization course in Banking Management, Insurance Business, Information Technology and Electronic Business in the Bachelor Program at the Banking Institute/College of Banking (BICB) and also submitted their applications.
In order to be enrolled in the Master Program specialization course Finance the graduates of the Bachelor Program, who have studied financial and economic subjects, will have to pass a differentiation exam in “Banking and Finance” I and II according to the study plan of the winter semester of the first year.
- The graduates of the Bachelor Program at the Banking Institute/College of Banking (BICB) who studied a different specialization from Banking Management and Insurance will be enrolled in the course Banking and Finance I.
- The graduates of the Bachelor’s Program at another institution/school and studied a different specialization from financial and economic one will be enrolled in the course Banking and Finance II.
The graduates of the Bachelor's program at the Banking Institute/College of Banking who have studied the course different from Information Technology will be enrolled in the course Information Technology and Management on the basis of the written differential exam "Information System I" which will consist of the subjects "Managing and Services of IT Systems and Organization and Information Strategies" according to the winter semester study plan.
For the graduates of other schools who have studied the courses completely different from Information Technology (BICB in Prague) the enrollment in the course mentioned above will be based on the results of passing the differential exam "Information Systems II" which will consist from the following subjects: Introduction to Informatics, Technical Infrastructure and Network Technologies, Managing and Services of IT Systems and Organization and Information Strategies. The exam will be taken orally in front of the examination commission in charge with the head of the department and in accordance with the rules established by the Examination Commission of the BICB. The exam will have been passed by the end of the winter semester of the first year.
Enrollment in the Course
The Banking Institute/College of Banking (BICB) establishes the enrollment procedure. The enrollment of students is organized without entrance examinations.
The enrollment in the course is based on the decision of the enrollment commission. Depending on the number of applicants there can be taken into consideration the decision of the Rector on the results of the leaving examination at the secondary school (for Bachelor Program applicants) and the previous experience of the applicants.
The choice of the course specialization (except LA and MM): During the first year of the Bachelor Program study (by no later than 31.5.2010) the student should definitely decide on the course type s/he will study.
The term of enrollment is established in the following way: for the first session of submitted applications the enrollment period is from 12.6.2009; for the second session the applications submitted by 31.5.2009, the enrollment period is to start from 28.8-1.9.2009 and 25.9-27.9.2009.
